CONNOR JUDSON GARRETT

CREATIVE PARTNER

Telling stories through brands and books.

About Me

I’m a storyteller and a content marketer. I fell in love with writing as a teenager. I was awe-inspired by Tolkien’s worldbuilding, Fitzgerald’s eloquence, Camus’ absurdism, Vonnegut’s genre-bending, and Kerouac’s stream of consciousness.

My obsession with words led me to treat my own life like a story, chasing experiences from Los Angeles to Beirut. Along the way, I’ve helped build brands from the ground up, written novels, worked at ad agencies, and been published in national magazines.

Specialties: Copywriting, content strategy, SEO writing, content marketing, book writing

How I work: Psychology plays a major role in my work. My first instinct is to listen, empathize, and understand the problem. Then, I work with collaborators and stakeholders to reverse-engineer how to tell the story around the solution and emotionally engage the target audience.

When I’m not working: I’m spending time expanding on creative writing projects, traveling, and playing basketball and soccer. I also enjoy growing my book publishing company Lucid House Publishing and my content marketing agency Publish Profitably. When I’m reading, I’m most likely learning about historical events, content marketing and business, or poetry to find inspiration as a writer.

Other info: I am the author of the Californication-style novel Falling Up in The City of Angels and the co-author of Spellbound Under The Spanish Moss, the first book in a young adult fantasy trilogy I’m writing with my father, Kevin N. Garrett. I dream of and am actively working towards carving out a niche as a preeminent author of southern fantasy.

The Garretts weave a magical tale that portrays the power of forgiveness and self love. A mystical experience and a powerful story.

My Services

As a Creative Partner, I treat your brand with respect. I care about you and your business, and I am here when you need me. I have worked in agencies and startups as an Advertising Copywriter, a Content Strategist, a Chief of Operations, an SEO copywriter, a Brand Manager, and the Chief Creative Officer of Lucid House Publishing, the book publishing company I co-founded.

My writing has appeared in print magazines such as the South Magazine, Georgia Hollywood Review, the Thirty-A Review, Simply Buckhead, the now defunct Private Clubs Magazine, The Remote Traveller, and Hook & Barrel, as well as literary publications such as the Blue Mountain Review. In 2017, I won the Edward Readicker-Henderson Travel Classics Travel Writing Award. Additionally, my work has appeared on various blogs, driving thousands of clicks and revenue to the websites I’ve contributed to. As a blogger for SnackNation, I’ve had dozens of articles rank first in Google Search for the respective keywords we targeted, and many more rank on the first page, generating substantial revenue, satisfying the company’s partners, and being a part of the reason why that blog has more than one million monthly visitors.

As a Content Strategist for an industrial design firm, I conducted keyword research, interviewed in-house experts, and ghost-wrote SEO-optimized thought leadership articles about topics ranging from Human Factors to Product Development, which attracted leads that closed for six-figure deals. My content strategy and SEO-optimized blog writing has also generated first-page and number-one rankings for Intact America, a nonprofit. Additionally, I wrote the website copy for Texas Pete, Green Mountain Gringo, and other national brands.

Garrett’s novel, Falling Up in The City of Angels, takes us on a fresh romp through the adventures of Tony, a young wannabe writer as he makes his way through his new home in L.A., far from the only world he had ever known back in Georgia. Garrett has crafted a truly wonderful debut novel worthy of both our time and attention.
